They Showed Up. They Competed. They Won.
Last Thursday, something pretty remarkable happened over Microsoft Teams.
Students from across Canada, most of them in high school, sat down and went head-to-head in one of the most practical skill competitions you'll find in education today. No trivia. No guesswork. Just real Microsoft Office applications, timed, scored, and unforgiving.
We're CCI Learning, and every year we run the Microsoft Office Specialist Canadian Championship. Every year, it reminds us why this work matters.
This year's winners earned it.

🥉 Labib Siddiqi, Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute

🥇 Luke Hayward, Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute
🥈 Nathan Li, Dr. Norman Bethune Collegiate Institute

Microsoft PowerPoint
🥇 Abdullah Hossain, Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute
🥈 Nathan Feng, Surrey Christian School
🥉 Amanda Guichon, Surrey Christian School
If you look at those names long enough, a few things jump out. Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute took gold in both Excel and PowerPoint. Surrey Christian School swept Word and picked up two more podium spots on top of that. These aren't flukes. These are schools where someone, teachers, administrators, parents, decided that certification skills were worth investing in. And their students delivered.
The MOS certification is the official Microsoft credential for Office applications, recognized by employers and post-secondary institutions around the world. These students didn't just learn the software. They proved it under pressure, in a national competition, against their peers from coast to coast.
That takes something extra.
To every student who registered, prepared, and showed up on June 11: you did something most people your age haven't done. You validated a real skill in a real way. That credential and that experience goes with you.
To the educators and families behind them: thank you. You know who you are.
And to our 2026 champions: congratulations. We can't wait to see what you do next.
